Wardell Armstrong (Cornwall)
British Lithium engaged Wardell Armstrong’s Cornwall office for their local knowledge and expertise.
A multidisciplinary Engineering, Environmental and Mining consultancy of 480 people with a history going back over 175 years and a reputation for high-quality service, both in the UK and Internationally.
Wardell Armstrong assists clients with negotiating mineral lease terms and ensures land is properly rehabilitated at the project’s end. Thirteen chartered mineral surveyors are currently employed – the largest independent team in the UK – works exclusively on these issues. They advise on all aspects of mineral property – from initial geological assessment to planning applications, extraction, sale and eventual restoration.
Wardell Armstrong’s extensive knowledge of the factors that affect the mineral industry means they can give comprehensive advice to land and mineral owners on their financial dealings with the industry. They are also experienced in related areas such as waste and recycling, compensation for sterilised or compulsorily acquired minerals, and valuations for taxation purposes.
Their metallurgical test facility in Cornwall has steadily grown over the past twenty years to become a major European site for the testing of ores and minerals including lithium micas. From their laboratories and modular pilot plant, they undertake a variety of testwork programmes, including work the Cinovec Lithium Project.
Nagrom Laboratory (Australia)
British Lithium has engaged Nagrom as a technical services provider. Nagrom is perhaps the world’s foremost hard rock lithium extraction research facility. Nagrom previously provided metallurgical services for the Cinovec Lithium Feasibility Study run by MetAmpere’s Andrew Smith. Nagrom also provided services in support of development finance due-diligence for Cominco’s phosphate project.
Nagrom, a privately owned Western Australian company, has been providing metallurgical services to the mining industry for over 30 years. Their Kelmscott facility with over 100 processing units and a staff of 120 provides a thorough investigation of process flowsheets. Nagrom can conduct bench-scale testwork to +100t pilots, from high volume yields of iron ore to high concentration processes of tin, tungsten, tantalum & REO ores. Nagrom’s in-house laboratory provides low cost/fast turnaround to support Metallurgical & Exploration programs, covering full iron ore, REO, gold and base metals suites.
For 15 years the total primary Tantalite concentrates from the Wodgina tin/tantalum/lithium mine was toll-processed to final concentrate at Nagrom’s Kelmscott facility and exported on behalf of the mine owner. Wodgina is now one of the world’s largest lithium mine. Since 2005 Nagrom has established a world class large scale Mineral Processing test facility that encompasses metallurgical testing, mineral analysis laboratory and machinery fabrication workshop.
Nagrom is a major player in rare earth metal testing and is the company of choice for Lithium processing and optimisation on a global scale. Clients that we have worked with in this sphere include (but is not limited to) major Lithium and Rare Earth players such as European Metals, Altura Mining, Galaxy Lithium, Pilbara Minerals, Tawana Resources, Kidman Resources, Peak Resources and Northern Minerals.
